GOP committees support businessman and former county executive in congressional bid
(Clarence, NY) — Members of the Republican committees in the Erie County towns of Alden and Concord have endorsed Chris Collins for Congress. Both GOP committees held endorsement meetings Wednesday night. Collins is running for the 27th Congressional District that spans eight counties and includes the majority of suburban and rural Erie County.
“This campaign continues to gain momentum and I’m grateful for the support I received Wednesday night from my fellow republicans in both Alden and Concord,” said Collins. “Our great country is on the wrong track. We need leaders in Washington who have the courage to make the hard decisions to cut government spending and get our economy moving again. Republicans in Alden and Concord know I have what it takes to make those decisions and do what is right for hardworking taxpayers.”
“As our county executive, Chris honored every one of his promises,” said Michael Cole, Alden GOP Chairman. “He cut the size of government, kept spending in check and reduced county debt by more than $120 million. As taxpayers, we benefited from that record and I know Chris will take that same mindset to Washington to help get our country and our economy working again.”
“Chris Collins is the kind of leader we need to send to Washington,” said William Snyder III, Concord Republican Chairman. “As a business owner, Chris knows what it takes to meet payroll, make companies competitive and create economic opportunity for employees. Washington is bankrupting this country because it’s dominated by politicians who think the answer to all our problems is more spending and higher taxes. Chris knows better. We are excited to send Chris to Congress to bring fiscal sanity to Washington.”
Collins has been endorsed by several GOP committees and local leaders throughout the newly drawn 27th Congressional District. He is also the endorsed candidate of the New York State Conservative Party. Collins is running in a Republican party primary on June 26, 2012.
